Wolcott Gibbs

1822 - 1908

Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, Harvard University. Ill health prevented Gibbs from attending the 1897 AAAS meeting. W. J. McGee, AAAS Senior Vice President, presided in his stead. Gibbs gave his presidential address at the 1898 AAAS meeting in Boston.
