AAAS Resolution:
Release of Anatoly Koryagin and Other Soviet Scientists

Whereas the American Association for the Advancement of Science has received recent reports that several Soviet scientists including psychiatrist Anatoly Koryagin, have been or are about to be released from prison or labor camps; and

Whereas the AAAS welcomes and is encouraged by these developments;

Be it therefore resolved that the AAAS urge its affiliates to continue to petition the Soviet authorities for the release of all Soviet scientists who remain confined in prison, labor camps, psychiatric hospitals, or internal exile because of their beliefs.
