William D. Carey (1916-1998) served as AAAS Executive Officer from 1975 to 1987. These records reflect Carey's activities
and life-long interest in U.S. and international science policy issues. Before heading AAAS, Carey held positions in the Office
of the President at the U.S. Bureau of the Budget, from 1942 to 1969, and with Arthur D. Little, Inc., from 1969-1974.
